You must set a reference to MS ActiveX2.n Object library
Sub newrs()
Dim x As Long
Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset
Set rs = New Recordset
rs.Fields.Append "Field1", adInteger
rs.Fields.Append "field2", adChar, 20
rs.Open
For x = 1 To 5
rs.AddNew
rs!field1 = 12345 + x
rs!field2 = "abcde" & x
rs.Update
Next x
rs.MoveFirst
Debug.Print rs(0) & ":" & rs(1)
rs.Close
Set rs = Nothing
End Sub
