need help linking an access database to a network folder for searching

I need to be able to link to a folder on a network drive from an acess 2003 database.  The folder contains appointment letters of individuals in individual files with the individuals first and last name as part of the file name.  the user wants to be able to click a buttom, have a search box open, enter in the first and last name and then have the results returned and selectable through the access database.
