Access updating linked tables

Asked by cstallings in Access Forms, Access Coding/Macros, Access Reports

I have a database that is linked to another database. We have them linked by serial. When I update the serial number on database 1 it updates the linked databases serial number. I do not want it doing this. The only reason we are using the link is to reference some info from the second database. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Listed is the query. Thanks.
