The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Only display table fields with actual values in subform

Asked by oollu in Access Forms, VB Database Programming, Access Coding/Macros

I have a subform (called Chemical Analysis which is associated with the ChemResults table) where a user enters a string into a text field (called Melt) and then presses the tab key.   It then retireves the columns (all are elements) associated with that Melt.  There are 14 possible elements that can make up this Melt.  Not every element will have a value.  I also have another subform called Chemical Requirements which is associated with the ChemRequirements table.

I need to do five things:
         1) Hide the lables and lose any white space associated with it if there is no value in a column.
         2) Write code that looks at the values in the ChemRequirements table and compares them  to the ChemResults table.
         3) Display all fields that comntain an actual value.
         4) In the unlikely event that an element in the ChemRequirements table is not in or does not match the value (or lack there of) in the ChemResults table it displays the value (or an empty string if no value is present)  on the form in red.
          5)  If there is a value in a column of the ChemRes table that does not exist in the ChemRequirements table it displays and empty string on the form and/or the value in red on the form.

I am attaching a bmp of part of my form, so you can see a little of what I'm referencing.

I am not a great programmer,  so any detailed help would be greatly apprecited!!!  Thanks in advance!!
