Setting defualt form size upon startup

Could anyone explain to me if it is possible to set a default form size when a form is opened upon startup. Right now, I have a form that appears upon startup, but it is very wide and takes up much of the screen. Ideally, I wanted to shrink the window size to show only half of it (first column) when the database is opened.
