Subform Write Conflict error - This record has been changed by another user

Asked by phmurphy in Access Forms

Greetings,
I get a Write Conflict error that requires me to click the save option numerous times.  The error indicates that "This record has been changed by another user...."

I think it is related to a subform on the second tab of the overall form.  There are 4 tables and two queries that are used.  One query is for the main form, and the other is for the subform.  There are about 4 fields that overlap between the two queries and some of them might get changed on either the form or subform.  I think that is the source of the problem.  The three shared fields are Hydrology, Veg, Soil and are Yes/No data types.  I have some on-click events that change these fields on the main form and the events includes a recalc (I also tried a refresh).  This is what  what triggers the Write Conflict error.  I will also get the error when I switch to the second tab after these main form errors.

What is causing this and is there a way to avoid it?

Thanks,
