Obtain anchored control's 'actual' width on a resizable form at runtime

I'm most of the way through implementing a basic pane 'splitter' component in Access. However I've unfortunately run aground on an unexpected problem.

When Access dynamically resizes anchored controls at runtime, it doesn't appear to modify the control's .width property as I was expecting. (I've set a Watch on the property and it never changes when I resize a form)

It's a pretty major showstopper, so is there some other way I can obtain this value?
