continuing data to next label in access

Hi experts.

I have a list of names that is variable in length. I need the list to be printed on labels. What I am having problems with is getting the list to continue on the next label.

The current reports detail section has a subreport based on the same dataset so that I get X copies of the list to distribute to everyone on the list.

Any help will be appreciated

label report looks like this:

name 1        name 1
name 2        name 2
name 3        name 3
name 4        name 4

There are 7 names in the list and I want this:

name 1       name 5
name 2       name 6
name 3      name 7
name 4

no, just using the page layout properties

I would give those a try.  In most cases you can select the exact label you are using or find one that's close and modify it for your use.  Most labels have an Avery equivalent number.  It's very tricky trying to do it manually and I have to admit it's a bit confusing to me.  I've had great success with the built-in label templates.

It's not so mch the layout.  As I mentioned, it's quite confusing and explains why you are having problems.  Your best bet is to use the wizard and find something close and modify it if necessary. You seem somewhat resistant to that and you are missing out on a fairly simple solution.  Otherwise, good luck.
