The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

DELETE Query frustration in Access 97

Asked by GoldChain in Microsoft Access Database

Tags: access, containing, table

Hi all.  I've got a situation here I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I've got 3 databases (db1, db2, db3) each with one table (table1, table2,
table3).  Each database is close to the 1GB limit so I can' combine them
into a single database.  In db1, I have linked to the other to databases,
so that I can see table1, table2, and table3 all in one place.  I've tried
to setup a delete query to delete all records in table1 that have a
duplicate in table 2 or 3 (the linked tables).  Each table has one field
(called field1 in table1, field2 or table2, etc..) which are all 50 char.
text fields.  This is the query generated by Access (from design view):

DELETE *
FROM Table1, Table2, Table3
WHERE (((Table1.field1)=[Table2].[field2] Or
(Table1.field1)=[Table3].[field3]));

When I execute this query, I receive an error saying:

Specify the table containing the records you want to delete.

So I modify the query to look like this:

DELETE *
FROM Table1
WHERE (((Table1.field1)=[Table2].[field2] Or
(Table1.field1)=[Table3].[field3]));

But when I do that, it asks me to input arguments for Table2.field2 and
Table3.field3 (it doesn't seem to recognize that they are fields from
another table).  If anyone knows how to do this, let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Mike =)
