Missing Library: Microsoft Windows Common Controls 5.0 (SP2)

HELP!,

My application works fine on my computer. I just copied it onto another computer and when I tried to compile the application on this other computer I got the message :

Missing - Microsoft Windows Common Controls 5.0 (SP2)

I have my original Windows 98CD.

How can I correct this.

Can an expert please help me.

Hi kkan,

have you checked the references under tools | references?
it could help to reregister the references on the other machine
since you copied the mdb it could be that there's a version confilt of dll's so that's why reregistering could help

HI bruintje,

I did check the references under the tool menu and in the box for Microsoft Windows Common Controls 5.0 (SP2)
is checked but it has the prefix "missing" before "Microsoft Windows Common Controls 5.0 (SP2)"

It seems to me to mean that this version of windows does not have Microsoft Windows Common Controls 5.0 (SP2) installed. How do I install/register this library?


Any help would be much appreciated

not sure here but COMCTL32.OCX is version 5.0 and MSCOMCTL.OCX is version 6.0

so you can try to copy COMCTL32.OCX to the windows system dir but only if there's no other version sitting there and do a regsvr32 on that ocx from the commandline

else

unreference the missing reference and place a reference to the mscomctl.ocx in the list

just a few thoughts

I found the COMCTL32.OCX file from my other computer and pasted into the new one. It worked fine.
