Thanks for this, but I do not know how to do set it up.
Presume will require some code on closing the 2nd form, maybe on its OnChange event. Maybe a macro??
Will try.

Have a control on a form that is bound to a memo field. If I double click this control I go to another form that I use for data entry. The data enrtry control on the second form is also bound to the same memo field.
Can enter new data, edit and delete fine on the first form. But have intermittent trouble with the second form. Sometimes the changes take ok, but other times get a "Couldnt update: record is locked by another session ..... " message.
Why is this happening?
Thanks

don't bind the control on the second form to the field. Set the value of the bound control on the main form equal to the control on the second as you close the second form- this should avoid the problem.
