Browse All TopicsI am trying to create a form with only 1 combo box field and a 2 field datasheet subform. The form IS NOT bound to a table, but the subform IS bound to a table. The combo box is populated a list of MODELS that I queried from the combo box's property box.
I want to be able to select MODEL from the combo box, and have the SPECS for that model appear below in the datasheet subform so that I can update the SPECS for that model.
I thought this would be simple, but I keep running into problems. When I change the MODEL in the combo box, the specs in the SUBFORM change properly, but I get an error indicating that the changes cannot be made because it would create a duplicate key field - MODEL is the key field in the table that I queried it from.
To sum it all up: I want the MODELS in the combo box to be nothing more than a list that I can use to change the SPECS that are displayed in the SUBFORM. I want the SPECS in the SUBFORM to be updateable and bound to a table so that the updates are saved.
Hope that makes sense
