Actually, I do have SP6
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have an Access2K form on which I am using the MSFlexGrid ActiveX controls from Visual Studio 6 SP5.
Each time I do a compact on the database, the database size increases, often significantly. For example, my base .mdb file is about 9 megs. After a recent compact, the file was up to 225 megs. Deleting the Flexgrid controls off the forms, doing a compact, then re-adding them brought my database size back to its typical size. While this works for now, its not a very acceptable long term solution.
Before I close the form, I clear the grids and reset their sizes to 1 row/column. Not that it matters much, but I am populating the grids with stored procedures from a SQL database.
Anyone have a good idea what is happening, and how to prevent it, or at least minimize the effects?

I think SP6 is the latest version of the various controls not SP5. Cheers, Andrew
