The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Help with coding - Access 97

Asked by ohgee in Microsoft Access Database

Greetings

Am trying to create a linkage between two unrelated forms, i.e. the forms are not linked by any common fields. The database purpose is mainly to collect text in memo fields, grouped across three one-to-many tables. One topic can have many subtopics and each subtopic can have many articles headings. Each article is done in the memo field.

The MainInput form is used to choose the topic, subtopic and article heading, using drop down boxes. However if the user wants a heading that is not on the lists then itÂ’s off to another form. The MainInput closes and the CreateNewTopics opens. The user creates the new heading/s and closes the form. This action then opens the MainInput again, but the MainInput opens blank. This is the problem. I need the MainInput to open at the same record it was at when it closed to go to the CreateNewTopics form.

I want the MainInput to close so that when it opens, it can see the changes that were made in the CreateNewTopics form. If there is another automatic way to refresh then will consider.

So I figure I need to create a variable that holds the value of the Topic control on the MainInput. Then before MainInput closes the variable value must be passed to another variable (because the first variable value will be lost when the form closes).
Then make MainInput open on the topic in the 2nd variable.

Have two challenges
Not sure where to place the various codes
Not sure how to write the code

Any help appreciated, especially where to place it.
Thanks
