MS Access 2000 "Disk or Network Error"

Hi,

We have an Access 2000 Db residing on WinXP running as a server and part of  a Win2000 Server domain.     We are getting the above intermittant error in Access.   It seems to occur for workstations running both Win98 or XP.   The funny thing though is that  when you go into Windows Explorer you can open the network drive OK yet Access still says "Disk or Network Error".    The only solutions seems to be to exit out of Access (losing work in the process) and re-start Access.  

Appreciate any advise on the cause or how to minimise impact.
