The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Access database tables  design

Asked by hentagodha in Microsoft Access Database

Hi

I am new to Access and I am not aware of its capabailities. I wish to do the following in this

project of mine.

I have a  form  "form1.asp". It asks for ID , Name and Password. The password is one common one.

if password is correct( which is checked on server side) in "form1check.asp" , the ID and name
get updated in the  ID_name db

ID_name table:ID | Name

e.g
1 | Joe
2 | James

now form2 is displayed: form2 asks for start time and end time. when form2 is submited, the following
tables get updated

Daily_time : Date | Dayname| ID | Count | IP address    where count is no of times ID has submiited the form
max(count)=1

23/03/2004  | Tue | 1 | 1| 129.129.129.129
23/03/2004  | Tue | 2 | 1| 129.129.129.130
23/03/2004  | Tue | 3 | 1| 129.129.129.131

Monthly_report : Month | Name | Date | ID  | Start Time | End Time

This stores the info submmited by ID for a month

e.g

March | Joe | 23/03/2004 | 1 | 10:00 | 18:00
March | Joe | 24/03/2004 | 1 | 10:00 | 18:00
March | James | 23/03/2004 | 2 | 10:00 | 18:00
...................

There is another form : form_edit.asp

this is to update info on any of these tables and any updates is logged

Log :  ID | Date | Old start time| new start time |IP address

e.g : 1 |23/03/2004| 10.00 |10:30|129.129.129.129

The reports generated from these tables  areas follows

1)  Daily report: should  call Daily_time  table to get that day's info
2)  Monthly report: on keying ID and month name should gather info of ID for that month;so call Monthly_report
3) Log report: basically just reads the info in table Log

How do i create the access .mdb file wiht these tables for efficient and quick retrieval
( relationships, primary n secondary keys etc) .Also will i need to have split  table option since there are 100 users
and  info can be changed/edited with form_edit.asp page

Sorry my available points are very less and this is very urgent for me

thnx
