Question

Query Records in Last Full Month

I am trying to set up a query which will retreive a set of records having a date in the last full month.  In other words, if I run the query on June 11th I would like to see only (and all) records from the previous May.  I have done the same query in Crystal Reports but can not find a similar function in Access.  My programming experience is minimal and I am using only the simple form/query/report builder functions, not visual basic.   Thanks for the help.

Hi Apschminkey,
    You can put something like "Between [First Day] and [Last Day]" in the criteria of your query under the same field as the dates.

try something like this

select * from table where format(datefield,"YYYYMM") = format(now(),"YYYYMM")-1

select * from table where format(datefield,"YYYYMM") = format(dateserial(year(now()), month(now())-1,1),"YYYYMM")

You can use:

val(Mid(date(),4,2)-1

In you query criteria on the column for DATE

This tells the query to return where the 2 characters after the 4th character (ie. DD/XX/YYYY - returns XX) are equal to this month, minus 1

So will return last months results

Danny, good solution, and well done! but just a tip here for u, may help u next time, not being cheeky, just some free advice, if you want to take it.
Sometimes regional settings come into play, so date may be MM/DD/YYYY, so when u think about parsing dates, if its one country only, its fine, if multiple countries, then you have to think about it
