Importing text file in certain formats to a table

I need to import a text file to a table in access, which I have done, but the price format becuase it's german in the text file is like $1.005,25 the comma and full stop are in the wrong place. Is there a way of importing them, and have access change the format to our price format, e.g. $1.005,25 <- this is how it looks in the text file,
import as $1,005.25 ?
Help would be appreciated.
