With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. How to add data to several tables in an Access database from a delimited text file with VBA and SQL.

Hi experts,
I would like to add data that comes from a delimited text files to my Access database.
The database contains about 20 tables and I need to write to several of them when
processing one text file.
I have the file_path in a variable (vba).
Two tables that I would like to add data to are:
"Peptides" and "Scores".
The textfile might contain:
WLQYSEHIHAR,WLQY,IHAR,53847,>scaffold_12,3.232,6
ELELIHAR,ELEL,IHAR,34343,>scaffold_138,2.787,12

Peptides.Sequence should take WLQYSEVIHAR,..
Peptides.Left_Fragment: WLQY
Peptides.Right_Fragment: IHAR
Peptides.RFStart: 53847
Peptides.Reference: >scaffold_12
Peptides.ScoreID: Scores.ScoreID
Scores.ScoreId: AUTO
Scores.XCorr: 3.232
Scored.Ion_Count: 6

These are just some values. In reality I need to add data to more tables
and of course more fields than shown here.
What I need is a solution for the above which I can extend with the rest of the data.
This should happen upon a click on an import button in a form using visual basic
and SQL.
