Access 2000 over a Wan

Greetings All,

I just spent 8 months working on a small database that would help my fellow co-workers order supplies faster and now I'm told that Access 2000 does not work well over our company Wan...

To be honest, the person that made this statement has much more experience with Access 2000 and our Wan than I do...yet I can't help but wonder if this is a case 'stepping on toes" or the plain hard truth!

So here is my question...Is Access 2000 a poor choice for a small database ( Under 1000 records) that would be access by only 16 people or less over a small town Wan and if it is a poor choice what would be best to use...I will provide additional info if needs be to honestly answer this question.
