The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Jet DB engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time

I've been researching this problem on this site and see many others have experienced it.  I think I'm dead in the water, but wanted to ping you guys to make sure before going to a (very old) backup.

I have 2 databases - one that contains forms, queries, etc. and the other that contains tables only.  My problem resides in the tables-only database.  When I try to open it, I get the error message:

Jet DB engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.

It will not let me open the database.

I've tried using the JetComp utility and get the following error:  Error compacting database

I've tried creating a new database and importing the tables from this corrupt database - as soon as I choose Import, I get the same message again (Jet DB engine stopped ....) and it won't let me import anything.

Are these my only options?  Meaning, is there nothing I can do to recover this database?

And if there is nothing I can do, did this situation occur because of corrupt data.  I read in one post that it was corrupt data in a memo field?  Is it possible to narrow it down to that level or is it just corrupt data in general?

Thanks in advance for the help!  My users are pretty frantic, so they're holding their breath waiting on a response from me.Start Free Trial
