The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. What software package(s) is required to make distributable MS Access application for user without Access installed on computer

Hello Experts, we have a serious question that needs serious answers soon. Thanks in advance for your help. The following is the specs of what's going on:

WHAT WE WANT TO DO:
>Our company wants to develop an application using Access 2K. This application needs to be distributed to users who may or may not have MS Access installed on their computer.

WHAT WE KNOW:
>We know that distribution is not an issue for users who HAVE Access installed on their computer; as long as it is no older than Access 2K.
>We know that for users who DO NOT HAVE Access installed on their computer, they will need to have Access Runtime installed on their computer to run our application.
>We know that we need at least Access Developer Extensions to get he job done or at least started.

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW (Our main questions):
>What software package(s) are required to convert our Access 2K application to a distributable version?
>Some of our research says we need Office Developer Edition to create an install package. But we didn't find anything on microsoft.com that says Office Developer Edition. Is there such a thing as Office Developer Edition anymore?
>Most research points to MS Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO). Is this all that is needed?
>Will VSTO create the install package that will include the Access Runtime for the user?
