The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Select from list box into another this box and then insert into subform of under lying form

Asked by jnewman in Microsoft Access Database

Hello

I'm developing this db in Access2003 but formatted in 2000 for the eventual end users.

In a form a want select items from a source list box and insert them into a destination list box with a cmd button.  Of course I will need additional cmd buttons to remove and clear the destination list box. Once all my selections are made I would click OK cmdbutton that will take the selected items and insert them as a new record(s) in a subform in an underlying main form.

Form: frmINCIDENT on table tblINCIDENT
      Subform: frmINCIDENTSUBJECTSsub on table tblSUBJECTS

Form: frmSUBJECTSSRCH unbound
      List Box: lstSubjectsSource
      List Box: lstSubjectsDest

This is what I got so far:

I have a single bound form called frmINCIDENT with a subform called frmINCIDENTSUBJECTSsub in datasheet view based on table called tblSUBJECTS.  The master and child links between the form and subform is called IncidentID

From frmINCIDENT I click on a cmdbutton that opens an unbound form called frmSUBJECTSSRCH.
In that form I have a list box called lstSubjectsSource that lists selected fields from tblSUBJECTS. The selected fields are SubjectRef, Surname, G1, G2 and DOB.

This is what I don't have:

I need cmdbuttons to select items from lstSubjectsSource and place copy them to another list box called lstSubjectsDest in the same form.  I also need cmdButtons to delete or clear all my selections

Once the selections are made I need a cmd button that will duplicate all the row fields of those selected items and insert  them as new rows into the the underlying subform frmINCIDENTSUBJECTsub in frmINCIDENT.  Finally the auto field IncidentID in frmINCIDENT needs to be linked to new records in the fields called IncidentID in frmINCIDENTSUBJECTSsub.

Please help.
