The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Experts,

I have the following view:

CREATE VIEW dbo.vwQtrlySupContact
AS
SELECT Casenotes_Tbl.PROBATION_OFFICER, Case_Tbl.CASE_NUMBER, Employee_Lkup_Tbl.TEAM, 1 AS [Count], Casenotes_Tbl.CONTACT_TYPE, Casenotes_Tbl.TODAYS_ENTRY_DATE, Casenotes_Tbl.CaseNoteNo, Case_Tbl.ClientID
FROM Employee_Lkup_Tbl INNER JOIN (Case_Tbl INNER JOIN Casenotes_Tbl ON Case_Tbl.SupNo = Casenotes_Tbl.SupNo) ON Employee_Lkup_Tbl.FULL_NAME = Casenotes_Tbl.PROBATION_OFFICER

I have the following query in Access:

SELECT vwQtrlySupContact.PROBATION_OFFICER, vwQtrlySupContact.CASE_NUMBER, Forms![Main Page]![Qtrly Supv Main Form].Form![Period Begin Date] AS [Report Start], Forms![Main Page]![Qtrly Supv Main Form].Form![Period End Date] AS [Report End], vwQtrlySupContact.TEAM, vwQtrlySupContact.Count, vwQtrlySupContact.CONTACT_TYPE, vwQtrlySupContact.TODAYS_ENTRY_DATE, vwQtrlySupContact.CaseNoteNo
FROM vwQtrlySupContact
GROUP BY vwQtrlySupContact.PROBATION_OFFICER, vwQtrlySupContact.CASE_NUMBER, Forms![Main Page]![Qtrly Supv Main Form].Form![Period Begin Date], Forms![Main Page]![Qtrly Supv Main Form].Form![Period End Date], vwQtrlySupContact.TEAM, vwQtrlySupContact.Count, vwQtrlySupContact.CONTACT_TYPE, vwQtrlySupContact.TODAYS_ENTRY_DATE, vwQtrlySupContact.CaseNoteNo
HAVING (((vwQtrlySupContact.TEAM)=[Forms]![Main Page]![Qtrly Supv Main Form].[Form]![Team Combo]) AND ((vwQtrlySupContact.TODAYS_ENTRY_DATE)>=[Forms]![Main Page]![Qtrly Supv Main Form].[Form]![Period Begin Date] And (vwQtrlySupContact.TODAYS_ENTRY_DATE)<=[Forms]![Main Page]![Qtrly Supv Main Form].[Form]![Period End Date]));

When I run the query, I get an ODBC error. I believe it is happening because the query takes too long to run. I have already made sure that all of the join and condition fields are indexed. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

When I run open the view from within QA, it returns approx 2.8 million records.

Any and all ideas are appreciated. TIA!Start Free Trial
