The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

I would like to specify the size and position, in pixels, that a form opens

My MS-Access 2000 application is designed to run on a 1280 x 1024 screen and all the workstations are equiped with monitors set up in this resolution.

I would like to specify the size and position of my forms in pixels if possible, and where on the screen the form opens.

For example, the first form that opens is designed to open and fill the left half of the screen.  It should therefore be postioned at the top left edge of the window.  The form should be 640 pixels wide and about 1180 pixels high.  (I'm guessing at the height at this point as I don't know how many pixels high the access tool bar is).

Another form will open to the right of the first, and this from is more difficult to precisely place because it has a subform.  Other forms may open and overlay the first two, but if you can help me get past this point, the rest will be a pieces of cake.

I realize I can move a form in design view and save its size and position, but that doesn't allow me to have the precise control that I need.  Also, I'm constantly changing and working on the form, as this application is a work in process.

Ive played with the movesize method, but there must be a better way!  Can anyone help?Start Free Trial
