importing or linking MS Access to Paradox tables.

Asked by Forensicon in Microsoft Access Database

Tags: microsoft, access, 2003

I am trying to import or link some paradox tables in MS Access. I have already copied my entire paradox database locally and am trying to connect locally. I am not sure what version of Paradox i am using, though the application that uses this database is Timeslips 2008 if that helps anyone. I am able to import/link one table named "slptrans" successfully, but when i try to import or link another table named "name"  i get the error "Could not lock the table 'NAME'; currently in use by user '(unkonwn)' on machine '(unknown)'." I don't understand this. If i'm trying to access the database locally and there is no one else connecting to this copy of the dB how could it be locked? Start Free Trial
