Shared Access database remaining locked after closing

Asked by sarielove in Microsoft Access Database, Access Architecture/Design

I am having repeated issues with a shared database that I occassionally use remaining locked after I have closed it and even closed Access.  It is clearly my machine that is locking it, not another connection, because my machine's network ID shows up as the user that has it and once I restart my machine completely it will let go of the DB but it's not always practical to restart it every time I use it.  There are no signs that database is corrupted and it's only my machine that does this to the database - the other users are having no trouble with just closing the database and it is released as expected.  Is this possibly a setting in my Access options or something I am doing wrong? I am closing the database the correct way, not using ctrl+alt+delete. Any ideas?Start Free Trial
