OK. I know nothing about Access database, replication. But my searching today makes it look like it was an Access 97 thing that is now extinct?
I found a wizard tool on Microsoft's website that will convert a replicated database back into a single database.
But my problem is the database is an Access 2003 database. A year ago I went I undated all Access 97 databases to 2003. The only ones I had to mess with much were some that had OLE errors. Other than that, the upgrade went pretty smooth.
Now, one of the 2003 backends - - - - I went to run a compact/repair . . . and the compact/repair failed. In fact Access 2003 would crap out in the process of trying to back up the data.
So, I imported ed all the tables into a blank database and found out one of the tables would not import. I inspected that table more closely and found that it had all these replication fields present. So, is it maybe I upgraded a 97 Replicated database??
But here's the kicker. Originally, in the Access 97 world, all these databases were not split between FE and BE. I split them. So, I guerss I missed it twice. Once when I split the data between FE and BE and another time when I upgraded to 2003.
I have since verified all other databases. This is the only one that has this oddity.
I inherited all these databases, and this one was not in production when I found it. No doubt someone before me was messing with replication. I'm sure there is no replication happening now.
http://www.dbforums.com/showthread.php?t=1626247 tells me about a MS wizard, but not for Access 2003. Do I have to go thru all that, or can I just delete all the replication fields from the table????
