The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Acces 2007:  Nested SubReports:  Unbound Error - How/where to embed subrpt

Asked by rfreeman1960 in Microsoft Access Database

This question is for Access 2007 and involves main and subreport setup along with Sorting and Grouping.

I have a primary report, we'll call Main, a subreport inside and related we'll call Sub1 and another inside and related to Sub1 called Sub2.

I need to do one of the two and I am not certain which one is the correct one to work with the gruoping I want to do to eliminate duplicate entries.

Option1: (I am thinking this is not the desired way but not certain)
   Main
         Embed Sub1 into main
         Embed Sub2 into main

Option2: (generally matches data - relationships)
   Main
         Embed Sub1 into Main
                     Embed Sub2 into Sub1

The object is not to end up with duplicates per Main record any any of the related sub1 or sub2 records.

Questions
1)  Is option 2 above the correct nesting method for what I need.
2)  I get a unbound durnig execution after dragging the sub repot onto the main report
3)  Does the linking Master/Child need to be there for grouping to eliminate duplicates.
4)  Do I embed the sub1 into a group header or into detail?
5)  Do I embed sub2 into sub1 header or detail or group header section?
6)  What is the recommended technique for accomplishing the follownig:
I need to exclude records on main report where sub rpt data is as follows:

Exclude main & sub records where (all evaluated per each main record.)
                        (
                            (count of X on sub1 = 1 ) and
                            (count of Y on sub2 = 1)  and
(count of X+Y per all Sub records for each main record = 2
                        )
                       or
                       (
count of x on sub1 = 1 and and it is the only sub record
                       )

Is there a link for the instructinos on how to make this work quickly?  I need to have the report completed by end of day today.

To the Access 2007 Guru's that have helped me thus far.  Thank you so much!
