Database structure question

Asked by aaddpp in Microsoft Access Database, MySQL, Access Architecture/Design

I am using MS Access, and want to set up a table(s) to allow tagging of some of the companies in the table. I would like to have two categories for each tag - e.g. CAT: Healthcare, SUBCAT: Contract Reserach; or CAT: Software SUBCAT: Operating Systems. Also, I would like to apply multiple tag cat/subcat to each company. Given this, I have set up a liking table to deal with the many to many relationships.

What is the best way to set this up. First thought was a categories table with a seperate table for subcategories - otherwise I am entering Healthcare or Software or what ever over an over for each entry.
