Multi-select Listbox-Extended - wants to highlight all records

I have a listbox where the multi-select is set to extended, it work fine a few times, then when the user wants to make a selection it wants to select all records from the top of list to select item.  Does anyone know why this happens?

when I close the mdb then reopen it it still does this, when multi-select = simple that work great, however, I need the flexibility of the extended.
