The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

opening forms conditionally; how to code

Asked by ohgee in Microsoft Access Database, Access Forms, Access Coding/Macros

Have a form, A, that is based on a table called AuditNumber.
There is a button on this form which opens another form, B.
Form B is a menu and is not linked to any tables.
When form B opens A closes.

Then when B closes, there are two possibilities.
A might reopen, or form C might open.
I am trying to figure the code that will reopen form A.

Seems to me that when form A is open, before clicking the button, I need to send the AuditNumberID value to a variable so that if the form does need to be reopened, the correct record is returned.

Then I need to write some code behind form B that describes the circumstances under which form A is not to be opened. This is dependent on actions that happen on form B.

My question is where do I put this code that identifies the correct record that form A should open on. Does the following sound right:

The form A code goes into a stand-alone module because it needs to be public. It needs to be public because its code has to be available to form B when form B makes its decision to reopen form A; form B calls it to get the AuditNumberID that was placed in the variable before form A closed. If I place the code behind form A then Form B cant get to it, right?

When I get the how-to right, will start coding and might need some help with it.
Thank you.
