Question

CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application") no longer works with IE7

When I call ie = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application") I get an automation error. This did not happen in the previous versions of Internet Explorer. Also, the browser window opens even if I use ie.Visible = False. I am also running on Vista.

Just tested it in Access 2007 with IE7 v7.0.6001.18000 without a problem. Can you expand on what you are doing and what testing you have done.

Looks like we forgot the 'Set' ?? ;-)

Hi,
I did have the Set ie = CreateObject in the actual code. The code stops at this line, the browser comes up and hangs. I need to kill the process manually to continue.

Can you please try a new database with the code above to eliminate the possibiulity of other code affecting it. Also try rebooting the PC to ensure there is nothing running that could be interfeering.
Finally can you confirm what versions you are running, OS, IE and Access
