Based on what you are saying, put this code in the Form Before Update event, which will end up looking like this *generic* example. And this assumes you mean a Radio push button as opposed to an Option group:
Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)
If Me.YourRadioButton = True Then Me![YourField] = <YourCertainValue>
End Sub
