The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Form allows record addition although 'Allow Addiitions' set to 'No'

This question is related to the following question which I first posted yesterday:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Development/MS_Access/Q_24865652.html?cid=1575#a25730254

I have encountered a situation where, although I set the 'Allow Additions' property on some forms to 'No', when the forms were opened, one could add a new record. Interestingly enough, if I changed the form from 'Form View' to 'Design View' then back to 'Form View', the 'Allow Additions' functionality was disabled.
I first encountered this with an accdb on a Vista Home Premium laptop using Access 2007. I copied the accdb onto another XP laptop using Access 2007; same error. Using 2007, I created an mdb, then imported the objects from the accdb; still same error. I copied the mdb onto an XP desktop with Access 2003 installed (no 2007); same error.
I was able to resolve this for the time being by using ADO for the form recordset.
My question is, why did this occur?
Below I attached a snippet with the form where the form recordset is set. First, the old version, whhere I was getting the error, then the new version. A copy of the mdb and many snapshots are available in the older question linked above.
Thanks,
Todd
