Access 2000 Runtime install on 2008 R2 Terminal Server

I am trying to install Access 2000 runtime on a 2008 R2 terminal server.  This application was previously installed on a 2000 terminal server and according to their support it should work on 2008 R2, which is only available in 64-bit.  When I click the access.exe for the ART, it tells me it is not installed.  Just looking for any help here on this.

Did you find an internet resource that detailed where ART 2000 can be used on 64-bit architecture? Just curious, really.

The ART should have been installed in the x86 directory, and it should have been installed under the Administrator account. Do you know if that happened?

Note also that in most cases, you can use the 2007 Runtime to run your older databases, although I'd check that out thoroughly before moving forward.
2000 requires the Transform as well.  Did you use the transform and did you install through the Add/remove programs or issue the command to change the install mode?
And FYI, it seems Access in general has had problems with running under a 64 bit OS.  Mostly with ODBC drivers, but also with performance.

I found that resource, and have tried the recommended steps with the transform, etc.  I tried changing the compatibility mode of the installer as well.
Are you doing this ART check via an acount that has admin privs?  Should not have to but I'm trying to rule out security issues as one of the possible problems.
JimD.
I sure am....  The ART install tells me "success" as well.
FYI:

Sage says everything back to Access 97 works under a 64 bit OS.
Is this an app you developed internally or is it commercial/custom?  If the latter, have you contact the author?
JimD.
It is commercial, and I talked to their support (senior guy) twice.  I let him remote into the new install and he is stumped.

Your clicking on a shortcut or MSACCESS.EXE directly?  Do a search for MSACCESS.EXE.  When you find it, double click on it.  Any error messages?

"This Application Must Be Installed to Run"

It is like a DLL or Registry entry is missing.  It fails right away, and will not open the application.

Are there any other versions of Office or Access installed on that machine?
Yes, Office 2003 is installed as well.  The Access 2000 runtime is only for an application that they use.
Then why not run your application using the Access 2003 installed on the box already? 2003 has no issues running 2000 format files - matter of fact, the default format for Access 2003 databases is 2000.

Hi PVSponge, I need to install the access 2000 runtime with the transform for an application I am trying to host. I have found this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244439 but cannot seem to get anywhere. Would you mind detailing a step by step solution?
Much appreciated.
kinsja1: You should post your own question regarding this matter. However, the support link you posted has a very detailed step-by-step. Did you follow that?

Hi PVSponge, I'm having same trouble installing Access runtime to Server 2008 R2. Since it seems you got  it working, could you specify where did you find newer version of Access 2000 runtime installer and what version it was? Was it Access 2003 version?
All,

I need to install the MS access 2000 runtime with the transform for an application I am trying to host. Can someone please post the steps on how to install this? I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

Thanks
