What's the recommended approach to secure data stored in a MS Access database? Specifically personal information like Name, Address, SSN, Phone# etc...
The Access database is shared over the network by about 8 users. In addition to every security layer we can add, I would like to encrypt the data and make it mandatory for the users to log in.
ULS (User Level Security) is the best - on a relative scale - that Access has to offer. But, it's not fool proof ... and can be hacked by a savvy person ... supposedly many tools on the internet to do so (google). Soooo with that in mind:
