The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Join two fields - Date and Time  - into a timestamp

Currently I have two timestamp in my Firebird database - TxDate and TxTime.

1) I found that when I update this TxTime with my TDateTimePicker.Time value, I saw it is stored as "1/1/1900 2:30:56 PM".  Is it normal this way ? or is there any way to just restrict it to be stored only the time value.

2) At my sql in delphi, i wish to display these two fields in one field , meaning I would like to do something like

select cast(txdate || " " ||  txtime as datetime) from table1 where pkey = 1489;

However it gives me error saying Not support or something like that.
