Browse All TopicsI am a newbie at windows scripting. I want to write a script that will help me track (dynamic) IPs of network computers by collecting and posting information to a file on the network server. In linux i would use ifconfig, grep, cut or sed to get the IP, and uname to get the system name.
Are there commands similar to grep and cut for windows scripting? Or is there an easier way to get the computer name and IP?
Thx,
Leon

In Windows you have IPConfig in replacement with IFConfig.
You can use Find command with | (pipe) sign to extract line particular word(s).
Use dos redirector > or >> to save output inside file.
