Advice regarding an E Commerce Website
I need advice developing or getting developed a business website (by a third party) with some very standard functionality that you see on many E Commerce websites such as the following:
The users will be able to register for the services the website will provide. For the purpose of registration the users will complete a form with some basic information, such as their name and address, user name and password. On submitting the form an email will be sent to the users with a link through which they they will be able to activate their account. After registration the user will be able to use the service provided by the website on a trial of one month. After the trial period the services will be provided only on payment of a monthly subscription. The website should be able to accept monthly subscription and keep track of the user's whose subscription expires. The passwords will need to be encrypted and there should be a facility for automatic password reminder and resetting.
The web administrator should be able to activate or inactivate any account . The users will need to stay logged into the website whilst they are using the service provided by the website. Possible number of users for the website will be a two to three thousand (more if the website is successful). The website will need to be good quality with a decent level of security. The Service that the website will provide will be a web based application. I will develop that web based application myself. I only need help with the E Commerce part of the website.
I would be grateful for advice on how do I go about developing such a website or get it developed by someone else. I wish to know if there are any standard ready made projects (open source or paid) available that I can use or modify to fit my needs. I would also appreciate advice on how to find a suitable third party who could develop such a website for me and some broad estimate of how much such a project could cost should I choose to get it developed by a third party.

Offer 500 points. As an asker with Premium Services, you have an unlimited number of points, so you don’t need to be stingy with them. The experts earn their membership with the points they get, so the points can be a big motivating factor when answering questions.
