Browse All TopicsA company is developping for me a .net plugin for Word 2007 and one of the things is that i want to have a button, that toggles the outlined numbered heading on and off. With that, a user can easily turn the heading of and on.
When i record a macro, i find this easy to establish. To set it on:
- i place bookmark (to return to my last point)
- search for an alinea with "Heading 1" (no text, just formatting).
- apply the outline numbering
- return to my bookmark.
To remove it, i modify the numbering of every Heading and set the numbering to "none".
When you record this, that's works aok. But now my developper says that he no can't do that with dotnet. I would like to believe that but find it very odd as well that this doesn't work with a richer environment. Who can tell me if i want the impossible from my developper?
Regards, Hans.

Hmm, not sure why your developer would say that what you are looking for is not possible in .net. If the .net project has a reference to the Word COM object library added to it, then doing what you described is possible. A Google search would provide examples of this - http://www.google.com/sear ch?hl=en&s ource=hp&q =word+inte rop+.net&a q=8&oq=wor d+interop+ &aqi=g10
