Unable to start up Visual Studio

Hi there
My installation of Visual Studio is giving me a real headache and am not sure what to do about it.

I had it all installed and was happily debugging my ASP app when I hit the stop button to come out o fthe debugger and my whole PC froze.  Eventually I had to Ctrl+Alt+Del and shutdown my system but when I rebooted I could no longer startup Visual Studio.

It tells me there has been an

Unhandled exception in DEVENV.EXE (MSENV.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation.

I have tried uninstalling Visual Studio, Visual Interdev Server, Frontpage Extensions and all and re-installing but makes no difference.  I even uninstalled Windows service Pack 2 and tried it without that but still the same error.

Has anyone ever seen this before and has an idea what I might need to do to resolve it?????  It can't be the application itself as have completely reinstalled all files.  There must be some other resource that is locked and can't get unlocked.

Any help much appreciated.
