ASP.NET VB menmbership custom profile (Visual WEb Developer 2008 Express Edition)

Hello, I just started learning Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition and trying to develop a web site by using ASP.NET VB.
I would like to create custom user profile by using membership function.
I'm not exactly sure how do I do it. (using profile???)
Here is my case.
I would like to create accounts for employees and customers.
They have completely different profiles as below.
Can I still use Login tools that came with Visual Web Developer?
Can multiple web.config exsist in a web site?

employees Profile
-EmpID
-EmpName
-UserName
-Password
-Active

Customers Profile
-CustomerID
-FistName
-LastName
-LoginName
-Password
-AltPass
-E-mail
-Address
-Comments
etc

Also, please let me know good web sites or books to learn other than asp.net, if you know any.
