Can you see the image if you browse to
http://meters/app_data/Companylogo.JPG ?

If so, try changing the slashes to / not \

I guess, / is used only for http adresses, and \ for physical paths,
This case is the latter one.

Accurately check relative path of the image (check if it is embedded ascx or so)

You can also try it by removing backslash at start, at all.

It sounds like the path is wrong, or file has not been uploaded correctly.

Are you able to browse the online files?

ok really not sure what to make of this one. it would appear that its something to do with access to teh app_data folder. teh eprmissions are inherited and standard, when I rename it to app_data2 and change the src t that pathway voila all is great, rename back to app_data and source becomes unreaable again.

Completely confusicated as to what might cause this, teh workaround of hanging file name is now inplace but I would be intrigued to see if anyone could explain why. I was thinking possibly web developer locks the folder but that seems weird if it does?

As far as I know the app_data is a reserved folder  that is designed to hold data-related content like .mdb files, .mdf, XML files etc.

When you place the image here it would not be referred in the client side.

so if you place it inside some other folder it will get referred
