Have you tried Update Driver in Device Manager?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have just upgraded my computer to windows vista. The compatability wizard said my Lexmark X1155 driver had issues with vista. So I thought I uninstalled it. I downloaded the vista driver from lexmark but it keeps telling me sn earlier print driver has been detected. The only option is cancel or uninstall. If you uninstall it goes through the motions but upon reset, the driver install program still says there is an old version on my computer. I have removed all lexmark registry entries and all lexmark files off the computer. The setup program still says an older version is the computer. Can anyone help?

Origionally, under XP I user Add/Remove programs to uninstall the Lexmark software. This removed the printer too. I have full administrator rights. I tried plugging in the printer and letting windows get the drivers directly from the install directory. Windows installer says the installation fails because the drivers are not digitally signed. This is a very frustrating problem.
Thank you much. : )

I can't say that. I remembered something I read the other night while I was looking for something for Windows7.
They said W7 had a Compatibility Mode like Vistas, and the XP drivers for that device worked for them in W7.
For the people reading this, here is how bossiercomputers did it:
Oh, for anyone else having this problem, to run it in compatability mode, right-click the setup.exe file, select the compatability tab and run in compatability mode for windows xp sp2.

Are you uninstalling with Add/Remove or Device Manager?
Did you try in Safe Mode.
You might have to reinstall the drivers in Normal Mode, then uninstall In Safe.
