Keyboard USB Adapter - Can it be Green?
I recently bought a ps2-usb keyboard adapter, but it is green instead of purple. My keyboard works with ps2, but does not with the adapter. WIll a green ps2-usb adapter work with a keyboard or do I need a purple one?

A Green one should work fine.
The colour coding is simply for ease of connecting the cables to the correct socket on the rear of the computer. There should be no difference between the actual functionality of a green as opposed to purple PS/2 to USB adapter, so the Green one will work just fine for you.

I just bought a used Microsoft Internet Keyboard. the keyboard works fine when I plug in the purple/ps2 cord, but when i use a green usb adapter,the caps light button does not light up and the keyboard does not respond.
I tried a 2nd green usb adapter, it still didnt work. Then I tried this on a 2nd computer and that also didnt work. Any ideas?

Once you plug it in do you re-boot? If not try re-booting. PS/2 is not like USB most of the time it has to be pluged in while the computer is booting up.

I never realised they were actually different. I am sure I've used the wrong colour adaptor before. Thanks for posting that info and correcting me. This looks like something which can't be done.

Thanks for the postings guys. I have two keyboards and 2 green usb adapters. I tried plugging them in, but I didn't try all the combinations. Of the combinations that I did try, the greed usb adapters did NOT work on my keyboard. I could try again, but if I am reading you right Coral47, I need a purple usb adapter which I do not have. I have seen purple usb adapters in google images, but I ordered 2 over ebay (less than $5 each) and both came green even though the picture was purple.
Do you feel that a purple usb adapter would work?
Does anyone have one to sell me for $5? hehe ill pay the first class postage. :-)

OK. But that one is another PS/2 device to an USB port, not an USB device to a PS/2 port.
