I went into the unzipped files of the windows flash utility and and found the DOS utility.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsThe BIOS in my Gateway m-1624 is corrupted.
It is giving this error when it is re-started:
ERROR
System Configuration Data Read Error
Press F1 to resume, F2 to Setup
It will not boot into Win2K, XP or Vista from a CD or DVD.
When I try to boot into Vista, it just flashes a cursor.
When I try to boot into XP or 2K, it says "Windows NT has found only 510k of low memory. 512k of low memory is required to run Windows NT."
The system config screen of the BIOS shows that "511k of System RAM passed"
I believe that I need to flash the BIOS, but Gateway only provides a Windows flashing utility. I've tried to run it in DOS without success.
Max points.
Any ideas??
