On a 2900 there is a small lcd screen on the top left front of the server. It will usually show the error code. I have had some power supplies go bad on older 2900's Could be your problem. The Open Manage software will tell you imediately what is wrong. If the server is under warranty Dell will probably have you get the logs from them or have you run their own ESM export utility.

Do you have Dell Open Manage installed? If not download and install the latest version 6.1 and review what it says in the logs.
