This sorted my issue. Thanks very much for your help.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have recently built a new PC for one of our clients and everything is working fine apart from when i checked the error logs to make sure all was good i noticed regular instances of the below error.
Service Control Manager
Event ID 7000
The cardex service failed to start due to the following error. Cannot create a file when that file already exists
I can't see this service and can't really find much information with regards to this error.
The System spec is:
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard LGA1366
Palit nVidia GeForce 9800GT 1GB DDR3
Intel Core i7 (920) 2.66GHz
XP Pro SP3
Corsair 3GB 1600MHz DDR3 CL8
Any info would be greatly appreciated. I did see a couple of posts elsewhere, where this error is present there have been problems with a system rebooting itself. This isn't happening to me but i want to clear these logs before giving the PC to the client.

Looks like you have a Gainward based nvidia card. Go to uninstall programs and remove something called Gainward ExperTool
Doesn't work? Remove all the software relating to the video card, and ONLY use drivers from Nvidia.com, no third party tools that the cd comes with.
This should get you on track.
