Task Scheduler Service Doesn't Exist

The task scheduler service doesn't appear to exist.  The task scheduler icon in control panel has a blank title and a blank description.  Whenever I try to use the "AT" command it tells me the service is not started.  What is the exact name of the service, and/or how do I start or install it?

From Administrative Tools in Windows, double-click Services.
In the Name column, right-click Task Scheduler, and then click Start.

Its not in the list.  For some reason or other it looks like it doesn't install by default.  I'm not sure how to get it installed however...
It gets installed by default. It could be removed by anti-spyware or Anti virus programs if the system is infected.  Check if a file mstask.exe exists in the Windows\System32 directory.  If it does rename it and run Windows repair using the Windows installation CD.
i2q2,
I am experiencing this exact same problem. I checked windows\system32 and there is no mstask.exe file in there. There is an mstask.dll but no exe. I also checked one of my known working servers and there is no mstask.exe file in there either. Do you have any other suggestions? I have tried re-applying SP2 and re-installing IE6 as I saw some articles stating this may have something to do with it. Any help you can lend would be greatly appreciated. I hope its ok to add onto this issue...
I've yet to find a solution.  I did the same reinstalling the service pack, still no luck..
Dynamite,
Just out of curiosity did you run into any problems with your Internet Explorer not associating properly on the desktop? Did you just build this server recently? I just built this server two days ago and when it first came up the Internet Explorer wasn't seeing itself. I had to repair IE6 to get it to see right. Also this is one of the first times I have installed the server off a burnt image of 2003 server from our Volume Licensing Agreement. Did you by chance download an image and use that for this install? Just trying to think of things that I did differently when building this server. We currently have 35 deployed so I found it odd that this one was a problem...
Specifically the screen that I ran into when double clicking Internet Explorer after building the server was the attached...

I attempted to call this into Microsoft Support as I believe it to be a system issue but they would not assist without my paying a $200+ support fee. I thought I remembered in the past they would not charge if it ended up being a system problem vs. a install/user problem. The technician I spoke to said I would be charged either way...
